Resene PaintWise
Waitakere City
Council's Transfer Station has always been a drop off
point for unwanted (household quantities) of paint where 85%
of all paint dropped off goes out again for reuse given away
free to ratepayers / customers and other organisations such
as Maraes, Churches and community based groups. The
remaining 15% is usually hard or has separated to the extent
it is no longer reusable. There is now another option
for unwanted paint and paint packaging through the Resene
PaintWise programme.
From 1 September 2005 you can drop off your unwanted
paint/paint packaging at designated Resene ColorShops as
part of the Resene PaintWise programme, it is free to drop
off Resene branded paints and there is a small levy for
other brands. Good quality Resene paint will be
gifted to community groups and cans will be recycled. The
aim is to help people responsibly dispose of unwanted paint
and paint packaging minimising the amount going to landfill.
The Resene PaintWise program is managed by the Resene
Foundation, and all levies and fees
are paid to the Foundation.
PaintWise Collection Points: Paint/paint packaging will be
accepted at the following ColorShops during opening hours.
Paint/paint packaging cannot be accepted by any other
ColorShops.
