Children's Christmas Giftmaking
Christmas giftmaking is an event where children can come
and make gifts for their families.
Every year local businesses generously donate resources
and volunteers come along to help children and a wide
variety of gifts are made. It is a chance for children to
give a little back to their families and to learn that
Christmas doesn't have to come out of a store. Children
register for a morning or afternoon session. Parents must
accompany their children.
Last year's event on 6 December saw 800 children and over 200 volunteers enjoyed a very
productive day making a variety of Christmas gifts for their
families.
Christmas
Giftmaking 2009 will be on Saturday
5 December 2009 at West Wave Recreation Centre,
Alderman Drive, Henderson.
Children can register to attend the morning session (9am
- 11.30) or the afternoon session (12.30 - 3pm).
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Donations of items are welcome. Volunteers are needed to
assist on gift stations during both sessions.
