New Lynn Community Centre

The New Lynn Community Centre, situated at 45 Totara Avenue, New Lynn was opened in June 2001.

About this Centre

This Centre, the newest in Waitakere City, incorporates the latest in people-friendly architectural and engineering design, to provide first class facilities for community recreation and private hire.

Situated in the heart of New Lynn, it is handy for people to walk, bike, drive or catch the train to.

The Centre provides an excellent venue for functions such as:

• Weddings
• Concerts
• Markets
• Exhibitions
• Festivals
• Indoor sporting events
• Community based activities

This two story complex consists of six various sized rooms, each available for hire individually.

Two large auditoriums on the ground level cater for up to 300 people each at any one time, with the active recreation area having an emphasis on physical activity.

In the Main Hall downstairs there is a sound system and public address system and a wheel chair lift onto the stage.

The upper floor consists of a suite of four meeting rooms, able to accommodate groups of all sizes. Whiteboards are affixed to the wall in each of these rooms.

Kitchen and toilet facilities are located on both levels. A large well-equipped kitchen on the ground floor includes two stoves, three fridges, a steriliser dishwasher, pie warmer, hot water zip, mugs and tea pots.

A second kitchen in the ground floor foyer provides a small Fridge & Hot Water Zip.  The Upper Floor Kitchenette provides a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, pie-warmer and Hot Water Zip.

Designed to be accessible for the mobility impaired, the centre incorporates a small lift to allow access to the upper level.

Ample chairs and tables are provided for each room.

A TV/video and OHP & screen are available for hire.

Booking this Centre

Before booking a Community Centre, please ensure you have the following information available:

• The nature of your event or meeting
• The number of people expected
• The Centre and room(s) required (contact us for help if you are unfamiliar with the Centres)
• The date and time of your required booking
• Any equipment requirements

Once your booking is confirmed you will receive information on the Conditions of Hire, the fire evacuation procedures and your booking number. You will need your booking number when you pick your key(s) up.
